Welcome Rees Morrison to Edge International

We are pleased to start 2026 off by introducing a new Principal, Rees Morrison, who joined Edge International effective 1st January 2026. Rees expands Edge’s capacity in two key areas:
- Crafting surveys, conducting data analysis of survey data and preparing reports
- Analyzing and visualizing legal data, such as time records, case management variables, and compensation systems using the R programming language.
During 2026, Rees is also forming a group for consultants in the legal industry. The group will hold monthly Zoom calls, publish a newsletter, exchange experiences on techniques and problem solving, and raise awareness in the legal industry of its members and their areas of expertise.
Reesis an experienced legal consultant who brings the experience of more than 30 years as a partner-level consultant to corporate legal teams and to law firms. Having focused his practice in recent years on online surveys and associated data analysis, Rees brings expertise including:
- Deciding the format, tempo, and programmatic aspects of surveys
- Drafting clear, unbiased, and insightful questions on surveys
- Cleaning and curating the data from survey respondents (or from internal firm or department datasets)
- Creating tables and charts that effectively display the findings from the survey data
- Preparing reports that convey the findings from the survey
Before joining Edge International, Rees worked in-house in for Merck’s General Counsel on management issues and consulted to hundreds of law departments and law firms while at PwC (as a Director), Arthur Andersen (as a Partner), Hildebrandt (as a Partner), Altman Weil (as a Principal) and EY (as a Senior Manager).
Rees has written a book about his passion (Savvy Surveys for the Legal Industry: A Guide for Success – available on Leanpub) and a book on data graphs for lawyers (Data Graphs for Legal Management: A Competitive Advantage for Decisions).
Rees has published more than 320 articles. One of his four other published books is Law Department Benchmarks: Myths Metrics and Management (Glasser LegalWorks 2nd ed. 2001).
Graduating Harvard College in 1974, Rees earned his law degree from Columbia Law School (1978) and an LLM from New York University (1984).
